editorial policy

sourcing

we use four sources, in order of weight:

  1. named contributor input — quotes, photos, and columns from real SG rabbit owners with permission documented in the repo
  2. public peer-reviewed material — Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund, ASPCA, House Rabbit Society, plus SG-specific sources (NParks, AVS, exotic vet websites) where the topic is local
  3. community-discussion themes — recurring questions and answers in public SG owner spaces. we capture themes, never republish posts. we never name members.
  4. our own owner experience — clearly attributed when used

we do not pull from FB groups via automation. we never republish member posts.

medical content

every health, illness, or symptom post:

  • starts with “this is community-sourced information, not veterinary advice”
  • includes “see a licensed SG exotic vet” in the first 100 words
  • ends with a link to our vet directory

we never name diagnoses, dosages, or treatments. we describe what owners commonly do, point to peer-reviewed material, and route readers to a real vet.

attribution

named contributors get:

  • a byline on the post
  • a photo credit on any photos they supply
  • a link to whatever they choose (social, shop, blog)
  • and a permanent listing on the contributors page

community-discussion themes are attributed as “owners commonly ask” or “a recurring question in SG owner spaces is” — never to a specific member.

fact-checking

every post has published and last_updated dates. we re-check posts:

  • when GSC or Plausible flags a ranking drop or a click-through anomaly
  • when a contributor or reader sends a correction
  • on a 180-day rolling cadence regardless

corrections are made in-place with a one-line ## update {date} note when material.

affiliate programmes

we participate in:

  • Shopee Affiliate (SG)
  • Lazada Affiliate (SG)
  • iHerb Affiliate (international)

every page with affiliate links includes a footer disclosure. clicking an affiliate link never changes the recommendation — we recommend products we’d choose ourselves. if a brand pays us, it goes on the featured tier and is clearly marked as a paid placement.

ai content

we use Claude and Codex for drafting, copy editing, and structuring posts. every post is reviewed by a human before publishing. AI-generated drafts pass through the humanizer step before publication. AI is a tool, not the author.

we never publish unedited AI output. we never republish AI-generated photos as if they were owner photos.

directory listings

base listings are free, forever. featured listings ($30/month) are clearly marked. featured tier is capped at 5 listings per category. featured status does not change a base listing’s content, only its placement.

if a clinic closes, raises prices materially, or develops a pattern of bad reviews, we either update the entry or remove it. reasoning is logged in the entry’s notes field.

privacy

our newsletter uses Buttondown (PDPA-compliant, double opt-in, unsubscribe in every email). we do not sell your email. analytics is GA4 + Plausible, with IP anonymisation enabled.
